Its 6 am and our race starts at 730am...........
Its the organiser's idea to have the shuttle bus leaving so early...........
Well...........

We seldom get a chance to take pics before a race...........
Reason being either of us will always be 'on-the-dot'............

Well as you know i been watching so many movies this entire holiday and pretty dry up with shows to watch............
Was browsing through movies titles with high rating and thus landed me with this entry.........

Finally dragging myslf to do this entry......
Nowadays really relutant to blog and all..........
So do appreciate and read okay.........

Yellow ribbon prison run 2009

*Sorry there is no picture for this run (no taking of photos is allowed in the prison)........

Surprisingly interesting race.......
Firstly, the bus was jam in the traffic(imagine running half a km to start a 10km race)........
Secondly, its the 1st time i race in wet weather condition(lucky it was just drizzle)...........
Thirdly, its the 1st time i went into changi prison!!...........
Lastly not to mention the post-race walk home(beyond home!!)...............

Flag off 730.............
Bro drove us to expo for the shuttle bus.......
Left expo at 7.............
On the way there came the jam just outside my ex-camp(commando camp).......
All the way till 728 when i step out of the bus.......
Damn it.........
I hate it when late.........
Its the same for the army half marathon when flag off is 530 and the time i pass my bag to that army personnel for deposit is 530..........
You know being late means that you must and will waste time and effort to overtake those slower runner(meaning you go longer in distance)............
*No offence to slower runners.................

Its the most cooling run i ever had..........
Lots of upslope...........
I was so busy overtaking when before i know it.......
Im at the prison for my final dash...........
I really love the idea of ending in the prison...........
Its a very nice scenery........
I can see where the end point is and all..........
Cool...........
Really cool............
Those were there know what i mean.........

Here comes the ironic part of the whole story..........
When its time to go.......
We didn know where to head as there was no shuttle bus in sight.........
A prison officer pointed the way to get out(but guess he didn picture we meant for the shuttle bus)..................
Shuttle bus is not taken from outside but in the prison itself.......
We climb all the way up and out b4 they tell us its wrong........
More ironic is yet to come.......
The volenteer outside tell us the shuttle bus will pick us up from outside the prison somewhere further downwards.......
And there we go.........
2 hunks in the process of being 'duah'(con)..........
Where the hell is there even any shuttle bus picking anyone up.............

The thing is............
Our house is in between expo and changi prison..........
So guess what............
The 2 of us walked all he way from changi, PASS OUR HOUSE!!! back to the Expo..............
We go like............''WTH, cun believe this is happening to us''..............
Well....................move on...............

Its my 1st half marathon............
Didnt get the desire timing though...........
But it was a great experience.......
I went alone(didn like the feeling of no 1 to wait for after crossing finish line, no 1 to share the run with)............
Got to see junior commandos(few of them flying pass me during the race).......
Saw my previous CO as well...........

Months ago we had abit of concern before we decided to join tis race as the following week(which is just next week *30may09).........
After discussion with alan.......
We decided to go for the 10km instead of the 15km........

Woke up at 5am.........
2 bars down......
Contact lens on......
Off i go to meet kuang hong @ bedok to take the shuttle bus.........
Yup.....U didn hear wrong......
Its Kuang hong!!!!............lolx
Im like so damn proud of myslf can...........
Being able to motivate n even to pursuade tis lazy guy to join.......

After the warmup session for every1......
Flag off for all 15km racers..........
Follow by us(10km)...........
Managed to squeeze my way to pretty front...........

And off we go.........
It was pretty constant.........
But wit the preparations i had done by far for my marathon next week..........
Im flying since 4km...........
The frustratin thing is...........
The distance on the sign board dun tally with my footpod..........
7.6km on my watch while the board is only at 7km.........
I was watching the time so closely can.........
By 10km i have broken my P.best......

Day before the race we went to plaza singapura for a surprise birthday dinner planned for lex....

The thing is next day hav to wake up at 3 to prepare as bus leaves from tampines stadium at 4.......
during dinner i found out from ying jian that during the pack collection day should have collected the bus ticket too(ticket was paid when i applied for the race)..........
i was so pissed........
how can the organiser be so lousy in passin the message............
there goes my $5.............
the next day went stadium and paid $5 cash(again)...........
how nice.......

rise but not shine........

its 3am, while the entire world is slping.....
poor runners are up preparing for the big day.............
tis time round i make sure i set aside more time for contact lens wearing........

took a cab down to the stadium.........
its jus a few streets away but guess wad.......
its 13dollar on the meter............

it was such a huge event...........

At the start point(merlion bridge)
we walked to the 5hr pacer mark then look at each other.....

1st 16km is the 'resist temptation' period........

not lik last marathon..........
duno anything jus whack.........
the plan tis yr is to go really slow for 1st 16km.......
then jog from drink-point to drink-point till 30km before using the walk-run method...........

perfect plan huh............
this time im all out to break my previous record......
hopefully by half an hour..........

so i keep slowing down as the temptation to go fast will set in.........
lots of idiot running pass lik its their last 1km..........

tme to release slightly and go at normal speed......

i felt a cramp on my left...........

then all sorts of negative stuff entering my brain at tis point of time...........

Saw a guy by the side appearently haven cramp too..............

He tries to motivate me by startin to slow jog..........
i tried a few steps but its almost reachin the point of no return.............
so i wave at him to go ahead...........
then i started walkin..........
after few mins i felt much better............

ON and OFF i go applying the walk-run strategy............
with my mind very cautious about my left cramp............
by then, the sun is already high up and cooking the runners...........
the thing is, i have not been trainin Day-run due to work(i think tts the cause of my cramp).........
anyway...........
with finishing line jus upfront..........
i couldn't do my power run finishin cous my leg wil go into serious cramp anytime............
sadly i went the fastest i could and completed the race...............

i have neber joined tis kind of event b4..........
although alot of pre-trainin is been done............
*been climbin the stairs every single day ever since i sign up for tis.......
*power runs...........

jy wanted to be there earli...........
i wanted more slp.........
thus i try to squeeze my preparation time so i can wake up ltr.......
had a pretty late nite slp(food safari roadshow)...............
did everything real fast...........
jus when puttin on the damn contact lens......
took me freaking 20 mins(im not jokin).......

Finally the damn lens onto my eyes n hair spray b4 i head down.....

sori bout the mizuno 10km......
reali no time for tt......
went to pasir ris to meet customer then to TP to cut hair then finally rush home to change into my running attire........
Mr Nice ying jian drop-by to fetch mi.....
muahahahaaa........
nice.......
i was prayin it dun rain cous appearently the sky is threatening to do so.........
& the thing is i will not risk my shoe to run a race in rain.......

well luckily it didn.........
sooo after all the deposit of bags & final visit to the toilet we headed to the startin line.....
muhahahaa........
i mus say its a smart idea to force every1 to wear their event tee.......
cous normally i will not wear the event tee on the actual event.......
i mus say the result of every1 wearing their red tee is reali nice........
look so uniformed......
onli thing is tt its not easy to find each other......

1 of the better race tt i had......
ying jian & myself squeezed our way to the front & therefore had a not so bad start.....
(previously at mizuno 10k was horrible).......
they hav tis color band thingy(red blue green based on the timin tt 1 claims they can run)......
appearently alot of ppl taks the wrong tag......
Anyway......
the tag decides how front u start the race........

appearently ppl dun care much........
the DJ sucks big time.......
there at the startin line waitin listenin to the MC, DJ & some invited guests to speak.......

BAM.......

smooth start........
but cum mid of the race im startin to swear at myslf for not doin any trainin pior to tis race.......
suffer u basterd......
lucky for the strong fundamental.....
& wit the idea to beat tt lousy mizuno timing & be able to see a 4xmin timing.........
cumin to near end where the sign says 500m.....
i started running at my finishin pace.....
then to realise tt its not even close enough to the finishin line to start tis pace.....
damn.........
after which i found out tt the sign actuali means 500m to waterpoint......
how dumb........

To add on to all tis........
i worn my damn spec to run tt day.......
it started off well & stable.........
after which wit the perspire on my face tt emerge started to slip down......
& the further i run = more i perspire & now.....
the spec starts to bounce up & down!!!!.........
imagine how giddy is tt man........

Nevertheless.....
the weather was perfect......
the spectators were great.......
almost the whole event is smooth & pleasent i mus say.......

he made it into the top 100......

we didn lik tt idea and therefore decided to go for tis one instead.....

of all the shows we catch.....

none seems to reali jib us*except for 'The Notebook'.....haa.....

truth is.....at the quarter of the show.....im in love wit it already......

yes.....its the same concept as 'My Best Frds Wedding'.....

well...'My Best Frds Wedding' is based on the gal tryin to win the guy back.....

stayed home the whole of today.....

after dvd went to play bball wit my mum....
haa.....she can still shoot well.....
btw....jus to share.....my mum used to be a runner, basketball, badminton & bowlin champion ......im not kiddin no......

sadly...we broke some(say 4 or 5) when we were still kids.....the thing is....she neber scold us or even show anger.......she is such a sweet lady.....

'SUPERBAD' wit faizal

haaa......watched it cous its well at the top of US & UK box office for weeks.....and after watchin i understand why.......

Lik some other typical teenage shows.......

some teenagers tryin to mak it to the party......

but some things will hav to happen to mak them get into lots of shit & adventures to get there......

In this case, its some underage losers(the 3 main leads) tryin to get alcohols for the party so as to impress the gal thinkin that by doin so could land their ass on bed wit the gals.....
the catch is wad actuali happens to the 3 of them b4 they get there.....

& while other typical shows onli brin u to the party then end of story.....superbad brings u to the party......through it.... and a nice endin wit a little twist....haa.....

good plots.....

well planned.......
totally cool jokes(dirty jokes rather)......

hot chicks are no less.......

two officers r reali plus points to the show......

my favourite has got to be the drawin of many diff d*cks(idea lah).......

not recommanded for the ladies.....

Anyhow.....its jus a continuation of balls of fury for mi.....
but kinda higher standard in terms of storyline, plots, cast & jokes....
Nice actors & actresses(hot except 1*fat maid*haa).......
Freakin jap guy wit freakin hairdo & specs & the very irritatin lines he keeps sayin, not to mention tt expression(^round round he goes)......
Soap scene is a definate must see......
Plots on the kids is a plus......

2 tickets to 8.30pm fireworks display at marina(credit goes to Chai CY for givin up his tickets due to factors).....

got home in shortest possible time so as to change up & so jus in time to hitch a ride frm bro.....

anxiety fills the car as the digits on my levis watch ticks....
its 8.30pm but we'r still caught in the underpass.....
